| Isle of Man - 1994 Japanese Bobtail Cat Coin | |
|
The Japanese Bobtail
Cat. Upon returning to the United States GI's brought back their
naturally bobtailed pets after serving in Japan and were responsible for bringing this
ancient breed to popularity and pedigree status in the West. These eastern feline
extraverts like people but hate mice whom they hunt with dedicated ferocity. A cat
who likes to be given attention and respect, the Japanese Bobtail is given the star
treatment on the reverse of the 1994 Cat coins. The 1994 coin is the seventh of the Cat series, and it has a beautiful Japanese Bobtail cat on the back and a picture of Queen Elizabeth II on the front. This coin is CuNi (Cupro Nickel) in a Brilliant Uncirculated minting. The contrast in the photo at left was enhanced to show the striking coin detail. |
